CROATIAN CULTURE & NATURE TOUR - 2011.
1.) PROGRAM:

DAY 1 – ZAGREB
Individualividual Arrival in Zagreb. Transfer to the hotel. Welcome drink at the Hotel  in Zagreb

DAY 2 - ZAGREB –  PLITVICE
After breakfast tour the city of Zagreb. In the fortified, medieval Upper Town, you will see St. Mark’s church, with its multicolour tiled roof, the lavishly baroque St. Catherine’s church, Parliament, the government palace, and many fine old buildings. After the sightseeing of Zagreb we proceed to the Plitvice lakes.
The most beautiful and the oldest national park in Croatia under UNESCO protection – consists of 16 lakes connected by waterfalls. The park is visited mostly on foot – however the entrance includes a boat ride across the Emerald Green Lake “Kozjak” and a train ride back to the main entrance. The visit of the park grounds takes approx. 3 hours.  Dinner and overnight   in a hotel in the Plitvice region.

DAY 3 - PLITVICE – ZADAR – ŠIBENIK
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to the Dalmatian town of Zadar.  The historical part of Zadar is fascinating to all those who respect historical monuments and cultural heritage. The church of St. Donat, the symbol of the city, is a must in each itinerary, as well as the museums of Zadar. Drive on to Sibenik - The historic town of Sibenik, connected with the expansion and development of the early Croatian state, is rich in cultural and historical monuments. The most representative among them is the famous Cathedral of Sibenik, one of the most original architectural projects of the late Middle Ages, primarily linked to the local master Juraj Matejev Dalmatinac (George of Dalmatia). Dinner and overnight in a Hotel at the Sibenik riviera.

DAY 4 -  ŠIBENIK – TROGIR – STON - DUBROVNIK
After breakfast we drive towards  Trogir. Trogir  has a fascinating 2300 years of continuous urban tradition. Its rich culture was created under the influence of old Greeks, Romans, and Venetians. Trogir has a high concentration of palaces, churches, and towers, as well as a fortress on a small island. After  Trogir we drive further to Dubrovnik and make a stop in the town of Ston for wine & oyster tasting. Accommodation and Dinner in Dubrovnik. Completed in the thirteen century, the old city Dubrovnik has remained basically unchanged since. Its medieval ramparts encircle the city which pedestrians can enter through one of two gates - either way, they cross a stone bridge under the watchful gaze of the city’s patron Saint,  Blaise (Vlaho), to find themselves joining the evening promenade down the broad, stone-paved avenue known as Stradun. After the sightseeing we will take a panoramic boat trip to see the bombastic Dubrovnik city walls from the sea, this   being the highlight of your journey. Dinner & overnight in Dubrovnik

DAY 5   DUBROVNIK
Completed in the thirteen century, the old city Dubrovnik has remained basically unchanged since. Its medieval ramparts encircle the city which pedestrians can enter through one of two gates - either way, they cross a stone bridge under the watchful gaze of the city’s patron Saint,  Blaise (Vlaho), to find themselves joining the evening promenade down the broad, stone-paved avenue known as Stradun. After the sightseeing free time to explore the city by yourself. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

DAY 6 – MONTENEGRO EXCURSION
This excursion will give you opportunity to see natural beauties of the Bay of Kotor that people often compare with the Norwegian fiords. The road takes us through Župa dubrovačka region and the Konavle valley, we shall pass through the cities of Herceg-Novi, Risan and Perast. On a pleasant journey by boat we shall visit the artificially built island "Our lady of the Rock" with the famous church. Than we shall visit Kotor. Kotor is well known for its nautical tradition and famous merchant navy of Boka Kotorska.  The walls of the Old town in Budva remember centuries of exciting history. Today it is a theatre city, a festival town, elite resort and naturally the most famous tourist destination. Our way back to Dubrovnik will be pleasantly shorten by a ferryboat across the Kotor bay. Dinner and overnight in the hotel in Dubrovnik.

DAY 7 – DUBROVNIK – SPLIT
After breakfast, proceed to Split, with stop for lunch in a village above the Makarska Riviera. A great view to the Islands and some traditional music will make your lunch even more tasteful. Today’s Split is the handiwork of seventeen centuries of men and women building and remodeling, adding and tearing down and touching up, so that 18th century houses intersect with ancient Roman walls and fourth century chambers house twentieth century apartments. At the core of this sprawling cityscape is the palace that Emperor Diocletian built for his golden years at the turn of the fourth century. Sightseeing, dinner and overnight in Split region

DAY 8 – SPLIT  – END OF TRIP
After Breakfast end of the roundtrip.
