Embarkment in the Opatija harbor. Meet and greet with the crew. The lunch on the motor-glider is followed by Opatija sight-seeing and a stroll along the “Lungo Mare”, by the sea to Lovran, and from there via ship to the nearby Moscenicka Draga. Overnight stay in the harbor of Moscenicka Draga. Sunday We climb from Lovran to the Ucka mountains. The luscious plant carpet distinguishes the Natural preserve massif from the rest of the mountains along the coast –line. The forests of Ucka offer a pleasant freshness in the summer time, and the peak offers a unique view. Lunch break will be on the peak itself, followed by a descent to Lovran. We will then embark and sail on to the island of Cres, where will we will spend the night in it’s capital city of the same name. After breakfast we sail on to Valun, perhaps the most beautiful fisher village on the island Cres. The route takes us then from Valun over the hill village of Lubenice (Lunch is served there) to mount Helm (482 m) and Martinscica. We then sail on to Osor where the islands Cres and Losinj are connected by a swing bridge. Once a key place on the sea rout between the islands (to the sea and land), Osor is now a peaceful place, in who’s Lapidarium art and sculpture exhibits take place. Sleepover on board. The route from Osor takes us uphill to the mountain cabin Osorcica (588m), where lunch will be served. A glorious view stretches from Osorscica over Nerezine and Losinj, the open sea and the surrounding islands: Cres, Susak, Sarkane and Unije lay in the palm of your hand. A well kept path leads to the peak. After that it is downhill to Nerezine, known for its lush vegetation and the beautiful, crystal clear sea. Then we continue to Mali Losinj, where we dock for the night. We will visit Rab and its distinctive bell towers after breakfast. Then we will climb to the island’s highest peak, the Kamenjak (410m) hill. There we will enjoy a beautiful view and later climb down to have lunch on board our ship. The ship will then bring us to the island of Krk and we will spend the night in its Baska harbor. There are 14 makred hiking paths around Baska in the direction of Punat. First we will hike through the valley of Bascanska Draga to the Obzova (569m) hill, before we descendt to the little city of Punat. Punat is set in a deep cut valley, known for the islet Kosljun and it's franciskan monastery; it can be visited if the time schedule will permit it. We leave Krk in the afternoon and return to Opatija Disembarkment around 9 am, after breakfast. |
