Cabin sizes vary depending on the vessel, collection and cabin type. Katarina Line offers a wide range of accommodation, from spacious, elegantly furnished cabins to compact, traditional-style cabins.

Katarina Crown Collection: Cabins are generally around 15–20 m², offering comfortable ensuite accommodation with air-conditioning, wardrobes, safes, hairdryers and selected premium amenities.

Katarina Signature Collection: Cabins typically range from approximately 12–17 m², featuring air-conditioning, private bathrooms and modern amenities for a comfortable stay.

Katarina Voyage Collection: Cabins are generally around 8–14 m², offering practical, air-conditioned accommodation with private bathrooms and essential storage space.

Katarina Adriatic Collection: Cabins typically range from approximately 8–14 m², providing comfortable ensuite accommodation with air-conditioning and functional furnishings.

Katarina Heritage Collection: Cabins are generally around 5–8 m², featuring air-conditioning and private bathrooms. Bunk beds are common on many vessels.

Traditional: Cabins are typically around 3.5–4 m², offering basic accommodation with bunk beds and limited storage space. Cabins are not air-conditioned, and bathroom facilities are shared.

Cabins in the Katarina Crown, Signature, Voyage and Adriatic Collections generally offer double or twin beds, depending on the vessel. Some cabins can accommodate three guests, with an additional bed positioned above or beside the main beds.

The Katarina Heritage Collection and Traditional vessels typically feature more compact sleeping arrangements, including bunk beds.

As bed configurations differ between vessels and cabins, specific arrangements cannot always be guaranteed. If you prefer a double bed, twin beds or another sleeping arrangement, please mention your request when making your reservation. Our team will do its best to accommodate your preferences, subject to availability.

Cabins in the Katarina Crown, Signature, Voyage and Adriatic Collections generally feature twin or double beds. Twin beds are typically approximately 90–100 cm wide and 190–200 cm long, while double beds are usually around 150–160 cm wide and 190–200 cm long.

The Katarina Heritage Collection typically offers bunk beds, although some cabins may feature twin or double beds. Double beds are generally around 130–140 cm wide and 190–200 cm long, while bunk beds are approximately 80–90 cm wide and 190–200 cm long.

Traditional vessels generally feature bunk beds measuring approximately 80 cm wide and 190–200 cm long.

Cabins on the vessel can be located either on the deck or below the deck. On-deck cabins are found on the main deck (the deck where you embark) or the upper deck (above the main deck). These cabins offer direct access to the sea and more fresh air. Lower deck cabins are located in the hull of the vessel and are typically quieter, as they are less likely to have passengers walking by. These cabins are also naturally cooler due to their proximity to sea level, and the hallways below deck are often air-conditioned, which helps regulate the temperature. Most lower deck cabins have small portholes.

Yes, lower deck cabins on Katarina Line cruise vessels generally have small windows known as portholes. These cabins are located within the hull of the vessel, closer to sea level.

For safety reasons, portholes must remain closed while the vessel is sailing. On some vessels, they can be opened while docked in port, while on newer vessels with steel hulls and air-conditioned cabins, the portholes are typically fixed and cannot be opened.

One of our guests shared their experience of staying in a lower deck cabin:

"We ended up below deck and I loved it!! The portholes were super cool and I preferred our cabin with the feel of being on a boat when not on deck. I got some arty pics from the portholes, and closing them at night was very satisfying (SO much better than curtains). When open, the light from the water reflection on the roof of our cabin was super soothing, and the air conditioning was a fabulous retreat from the heat."

The guest also appreciated the cabin's amenities, including the safe, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom and quality shower.

Vessel rules are meant to protect the passengers on board. Please read and act accordingly, with consideration for other passengers.

If a passenger behaves in a way that causes or is likely to cause danger or distress to any third party, Katarina Line reserves the right to terminate the travel of the person(s) concerned without any refund.

General Conduct, Authority & Itinerary

• Passengers must comply with the instructions of the captain, tour leader, and crew at all times. Misconduct, disruptive behaviour, or failure to follow safety instructions may result in disembarkation without refund.

• As vessels are acoustic, please be mindful of noise at all times. Quiet hours (“night peace”) begin at midnight or earlier in National Parks as announced.

• The captain reserves the right to change the route or itinerary due to bad weather, port conditions, or other safety considerations.

• Due to limited berthing space in certain ports, especially Hvar and Vis, the vessel may dock or anchor in alternative ports such as Stari Grad (for Hvar) or Komiža (for Vis).

• Due to the Split harbour reconstruction announced by the port authorities, Katarina Line cannot guarantee docking at Split port. An alternative nearby port may be used if required.

• Departures are guaranteed; however, Katarina Line may cancel a departure if fewer than 20 participants are booked.

• Katarina Line reserves the right to change the vessel if necessary, including in cases of exclusive cruise arrangements. In such cases, notification will be sent at least 30 days before departure.

• The tour leader, in agreement with the captain, may adjust excursions and schedules as required by weather or operational conditions.

• Before departure, a Katarina Line representative will hold a welcome briefing covering safety procedures and essential travel information, as required by law.

• The captain and crew will do their utmost to ensure passenger comfort. If you are dissatisfied with any service, please contact Katarina Line Head Office (+385 51 603 400) for assistance.

  Safety on Board & Mooring

• Passports must be handed to the captain for registration on the first day of the cruise.

• Jumping or diving from the ship during navigation is strictly forbidden. Climbing on masts or railings is also prohibited.

• During rough weather, movement should be minimised and done with care, as floors may be wet and slippery.

• In some ports, vessels are moored side by side. Passengers may need to cross between ships to reach shore. This is done at their own risk, and crew assistance will be provided to those requesting it.

• Lifejackets and safety belts are located under seats in the dining area, under beds, or in wardrobes, depending on the vessel. The crew will instruct passengers in case of an emergency.

• Hot tubs and other onboard facilities must be used only in accordance with posted instructions.

• Katarina Line will not be held responsible for accidents that may occur on board and emphasises the need for special care and caution while moving around the vessel or crossing between ships and the mainland.

  Cabins & Facilities

• Bed linen and towels are provided. Items must not be removed from cabins.

• Portholes in lower deck cabins must remain closed during navigation to prevent seawater from entering.

• Toilet facilities: only toilet paper may be flushed. Other items must be disposed of in the bin provided.

•  Refrain from entering indoor areas while wet from swimming. Please dry off and wear appropriate clothing before entering salons or cabins.

  Passenger Conduct (Smoking, Alcohol, Meals & Dress Code)

• Smoking is prohibited in cabins and restaurant areas. It is allowed only in designated outdoor areas. Dispose of cigarette butts responsibly—never into the sea.

• Bringing alcohol or other beverages onboard is not permitted, except for infant food, medicines, and special dietary products. Regional products purchased ashore will be stored by the crew and returned at the end of the cruise.

• Passengers must respect posted mealtimes and departure times.

• For hygiene and comfort, please dress appropriately inside. Swimwear is for the deck and beach, not for indoor areas.

• Passengers must adhere to the Ship Rules (displayed onboard), particularly regarding alcohol and behaviour. Inappropriate conduct may result in disembarkation at the discretion of the Captain and/or Katarina Line, without refund.

  Responsibility (Environmental & Passenger)

• It is strictly forbidden to throw rubbish or any objects into the sea.

• Water and electricity are limited resources on board; passengers are requested to use them responsibly.

• Passengers are responsible for their own belongings. Katarina Line cannot be held liable for lost or damaged personal items.

• Any damage caused by passengers must be compensated. Lost cabin keys will be charged.

  Additional Notes

• Service charge/tips are not included in the cruise price. Gratuities are at the passengers’ discretion. Tipping is voluntary and entirely based on your satisfaction with the service provided. Tips for the crew are shared equally among all members.

• Tipping suggestions per person

  • Tour Manager: € 50

  • Crew (services & luggage assistance): €150

  • Local guides & drivers: €1–2 per tour

  • Restaurants & cafés: 10–15% of the bill (if not already included)

  • Taxis: Up to 10% of the fare (we recommend booking through your Tour or Cruise Manager)

     

The official currency in Croatia is the euro (EUR). While many services are included in your Katarina Line cruise package, certain additional expenses are paid directly on board or during your trip.

These may include drinks purchased on board, optional excursions, transfers, entrance fees, gratuities and other personal expenses. Please check your cruise itinerary for details of what is included in your package.

Cash and card payments

Card payments may be available on vessels in the Katarina Crown, Signature, Voyage and Adriatic Collections, depending on the individual ship. However, card payment facilities are not guaranteed on all vessels, so we recommend carrying some cash in euros for onboard purchases and additional expenses.

ATMs and cash withdrawals

ATMs are available in larger Croatian towns and ports, including Opatija, Split and Dubrovnik, but access may be limited on smaller islands and in remote destinations.

International cardholders may be charged additional withdrawal fees, which are generally displayed before confirming the transaction. We recommend checking these charges carefully.

If an ATM offers to charge you in your home currency, such as USD, GBP, AUD or CAD, we generally recommend choosing to be charged in euros (EUR), as dynamic currency conversion may result in a less favourable exchange rate.

Where possible, use ATMs operated by established banks rather than standalone tourist ATMs. Withdrawal fees, exchange rates and card charges depend on your bank, card provider and ATM operator, and Katarina Line cannot guarantee specific fees or conditions.

The price is per person per week in double/twin cabins (DBL/TWN) and is stated in EUR.

Yes, a 50% surcharge applies to single-use cabins based on the twin-share price.  

Yes, a 5% discount applies when booking two consecutive weeks

Yes, adults on the third bed in a triple cabin receive a 30% discount (limited availability).
